10 Powerful List Building Techniques

Posted by JG on Jun 17, 2009 in Email List Management, Online Lead Generation

The lifeblood of any Internet marketer is their list. If you have an opt in email list then you are sitting on piles of cash, if you properly use your list then your earning potential is very high. As many people ask “How do I build a list?” the following points describes some of the best ways for building your email list.

  1. Newsletter / Email Marketing: We are in the Information Age and so people are desperate for information. Everyone is so busy with their lives they don’t have time to find the information for themselves. Publish a newsletter in your niche that is full of valuable content and you will get people flocking to you to sign up.
  2. E-Courses: People are hungry for information, so a free e-course will persuade people to part with their email address. Create at least a seven part course that is delivered every few days into their inbox. Of course, the e-course also subtly sells your product!
  3. Articles: Write articles and distribute them to article directories. Include your newsletter sign up in the resource box and if you have provided good quality content, you will get the visitors who will sign up to learn more.
  4. Free E-Books: A free e-book is an excellent way to build your list. It doesn’t have to be an epic tome, just valuable information that people will exchange their email address for. You can write one yourself or get one ghostwritten for you. Make sure though that it is information that your visitors will want to have, and make sure you have included links to your products and sites in the book. You can also include affiliate links to further maximize your earnings.
  5. Free Membership Site: Creating a free membership site is an excellent way to get people’s email addresses. Offer valuable content for free but only to signed up members. You can then up sell them other products or other levels of membership with more products and more resources available to them.
  6. Landing Page: So, what’s a landing page? It’s the page your website visitor arrived at after clicking a link. The link could be on any page on your website or pay per click advertising or banner ads or keyword search.
The goal of landing page is to cause your visitors to take definite action. You don’t want your visitors to leave until you get them to do what you want them to do. To click on the buy button, to sign up for an affiliate program, to download a free e-book or software, to sign up for a course, or to subscribe to your free newsletter.
  7. Pop Up Windows: Pop up windows, particularly unique and different windows, can be very effective at persuading people to sign up for your newsletter. These can either pop up as the visitor enters your site, or when they leave, reminding them to sign up for more information.
  8. Social Media Marketing: You may not realize it, but social media sites have more traffic than Google. And if you use the right social media strategies and tactics to put yourself in front of that traffic, then you don’t have rely on Google to get traffic to your sites.  And best of all, you don’t have to worry about expensive AdWords campaigns or other forms of advertising.
  9. Free Giveaways: A very popular new method of list building are the big Internet giveaways where lots of people submit products that are available for free in exchange for a newsletter sign up. These are excellent ways to rapidly build your list – though be aware that freebie seekers may not make for the most responsive of lists.
  10. Sign up bonuses: Offer your visitors a bonus if they sign up for your newsletter, e.g. “20% off XYZ for readers” or a number of e-books or reports that will be of interest to them.

Using these 10 simple strategies you can build your list and then leverage their earning power.

Achieve Independence Through Online Lead Generation

Posted by AlisonAdzacta on Jun 16, 2009 in Online Lead Generation

Before setting up anything, it is important that you understand the high relevance of lead generation to your business’ success. It is highly important for you to be able to find ways to use lead generation because without lead generation, your business will likely suffer on the internet. Leads potentially lead to customers, and customers potentially lead to sales and profits. Thus, with no leads, you can have no customers, and so forth.

Business Breeds Business

A poor quality of lead generation will end up costing you a lot of wasted time and money. The initial impression people have about your business is very important. And if people hear that many of their friends are shopping somewhere, they are likely to try shopping there also. Take command of your company’s lead generation – never leave the sales of your business as well as its growth, efficiency, and image, to fate.

Growth Is More Important Than Profits

You always need to supervise your company’s lead generation so that you won’t be left in the dark when it comes to your company’s growth (or lack of it). If you are now interested in taking command of your company’s lead generation, here are some simple tricks of the trade.

  • Use The Internet

Since hundreds of millions of people are logged on to the internet every single day, whether they are looking for something specific or just browsing around, it is highly important that you are able to bypass all the lead brokers.  You must also stay ahead of other competition on the internet and directly connect your desired customers straight to a web site and/or landing page.

  • Lead Generation

Choose a lead generation system that you can efficiently control and which is highly dependable. Make sure that your lead generation system is cost effective and specifically targeted to internet lead generation. Start getting off the lead generation habit of merely doing internet sales leads. It is advisable for your company to be able to develop a type of lead generation program where you will be able to create a targeted consumer base. You will not only be able to increase your company’s lead generation but it can also improve the quality of your company’s internet lead generation wherein you will be able to cut your costs per lead. Then you can set your weekly newsletter in place that will help encourage consumers to stay in touch with your business.

It is important to note that being able to create an effective internet sales lead generation system or program comprises of being highly sensitive of what your prospective clients want. This can include  such things as the right keywords or phrases that prospective clients usually use in the internet search engines. It is to the client’s advantage that he or she will be able to choose the right keyword or key phrase (the ones that are most likely to be used by their prospective clients) because the whole point of lead generation is to basically be able to gain as much exposure over the net as possible as well as being able to provide all relevant information to their prospective clients.

Three Fatal Affiliate Marketing Mistakes

Posted by JG on Jun 14, 2009 in Affiliate Marketing

Having an Internet business that allows you to earn money on auto-pilot is a very exciting thing. Although it’s thought to be easy to make a comfortable living with affiliate internet marketing, very few affiliates are truly successful in their businesses.

In this article you will discover how to avoid three fatal mistakes most affiliate marketers make. You will also find out how to target affiliate programs that earn you residual income, which is generally income that you receive month after month for work that you did only one time.

In affiliate marketing an advertiser agrees to pay the affiliate a certain percentage of the sale price for products or services sold by the affiliate. This is a win-win situation because the affiliate simply refers customers to an advertiser -owned landing page and does not have to worry about fulfillment. The advertiser gets people to advertise for them and only has to pay them after they make a sale.

Here are three fatal mistakes most affiliate marketers make:

1. They send their prospects directly to an affiliate web site.
When you consider the time, energy and money invested in your business it doesn’t make much sense to send people directly to an advertiser web site where you only have one chance to get the sale. If your prospect decides not to make a purchase yet, you’ll likely lose that prospect forever. What you must do instead is send your prospects to a web page where you can introduce them to the product or service you’re promoting as well as offer them something of value for free in exchange for their email address. This allows you to follow up them through an auto responder and have the opportunity to make multiple sales to the same customers.

2. Creating a web site packed full of affiliate links, flashy banners and other distractions.
Overwhelming your web site visitors with the above distractions will make them want to do one thing… leave. Instead, offer an honest review of a product or some other type of meaningful content. Pre-sell your readers on benefits and on how whatever you’re offering will help them.

3. Falling victim to commission theft.
Commission theft is a popular problem in affiliate internet marketing. While, you cannot eliminate it completely, there are some simple steps you can take to minimize it. Two methods you can use are cloaking and redirecting of affiliate links. Instead of having your affiliate link in the form: “www.merchantweb site.com/?id=youraffiliateid”… You can easily set up redirects in your web hosting account that send your visitors to your affiliate link. Example: http://www.yourweb site.com/affiliate_site.

Fortunately, it takes the same amount of work to make a sale for a one-time purchase as it takes to make a sale for a residual payment type of product or service. This is why it makes good common sense to market affiliate programs with residual commission structures. While shopping for residual payment affiliate programs you should consider the marketability of the services you are recommending.

For example, if you refer a sale for a membership web site that only offers resale rights to products, and nothing else to keep the customer from canceling, people can join, download all of the products and then cancel their membership.
On the other hand, consider promoting and selling web hosting or auto responder services. These services are essential tools for your prospective customers business, and he or she is much less likely to cancel for quite some time.

In conclusion, you should always try to avoid common mistakes that affiliate marketers make by collecting your prospects email address, pre-selling them to the product’s benefits, and by taking simple steps to avoiding affiliate commission theft.

In addition, you should be promoting and marketing affiliate programs with residual commission structures. Be sure to evaluate the stickiness of the product you are recommending. The best way to do that is to first become a customer yourself, use the product or service and pass on advice that will help your potential buyers.

The Different Types Of Affiliate Marketing

Posted by JG on Jun 13, 2009 in Affiliate Marketing, Pay for Performance

Affiliate marketing programs has never been as popular before as it is today. Why? There can be a number of reasons. The most probable reason, however, could be the fact that the benefits of affiliate marketing have become clearer to a lot of people now than they were before.

Today, both the advertisers and the affiliates can see clearly that affiliate marketing can work for both of them. The advertiser sees affiliate marketing today as the chance to advertise their products at a lower cost. The affiliates, on the other hand, sees affiliate marketing as an easy way of earning profits online by doing what they like most, and that is by creating web sites, blogs, or email lists.

Just as the popularity of affiliate marketing has shifted into greater heights, so has the business world’s outlook about how successful it can be. No longer is affiliate marketing considered today as an alternative method for the advertiser to advertise his products, or as a source of additional income for the affiliates. For advertisers and affiliates alike, affiliate marketing is now considered as a main source of profits, revenues, and brand awareness.

So the question now is what type of affiliate marketing will work best for you? Are all affiliate marketing programs the same? Are the benefits the same? Or are there affiliate marketing programs that work better than the others?
There are actually different types or classes of affiliate marketing, and the number of types will depend on how one will classify them. The most basic affiliate marketing programs, however, falls under two categories: pay-per-click (PPC), and pay-per-performance (PPP).

Pay Per Click (PPC)
PPC is the most popular type of affiliate marketing for affiliates with small websites, and probably the easiest way for them to earn money. In this affiliate marketing type, the advertiser pays his affiliate whenever a visitor is referred to his site, which is whenever someone clicks through the advertiser’s banner, text ads, or email links. The affiliate gets paid a certain amount even if the visitor he referred does not purchase anything from the advertiser’s site. However, typical fees for PPC affiliate programs are small, usually not exceeding a dollar for every click.

Pay Per Performance (PPP)
PPP affiliate marketing is the most popular among advertiser and is also the most lucrative type for the affiliates. In this type of affiliate program, the advertiser only pays the affiliate whenever his referral translates into an action—that is whenever the visitor he has referred actually buys something from the advertiser’s site or when the visitor becomes a lead. This means a lot of savings for the advertiser. On the other hand, it becomes the most lucrative type for the dedicated affiliate, for commissions in PPP affiliate marketing usually comes in the range of 15% to 20% of the actual product sales.

Pay-per-performance affiliate marketing can be further classified into two popular types: pay-per-sales (PPS) and pay-per-lead (PPL).

Pay Per Sale (PPS)
In a pay-per-sale type of affiliate marketing, the advertisers pay the affiliate a certain fee whenever the visitor he has referred to the advertiser’s site actually buys something from the advertiser’s site. Affiliates are often paid on commission basis, although other advertisers would opt to pay a fixed fee. But no matter what the basis of the fee is, it is generally higher than the fee paid to affiliates in a pay-per-click affiliate program.

Pay Per Lead (PPL)
The pay-per-lead type of affiliate marketing is a slight variation of the PPS type and is often used by insurance and finance companies and other companies who rely on leads for their company to grow. In this type of affiliate marketing, the affiliate is paid whenever the visitor he referred to the advertiser’s site fills out an application form or any similar form related to the business of the company. Compensation for this type of affiliate marketing is based on a fixed fee whose rates approximate that of the fixed fee in the PPS type.

Aside from these three specific types of affiliate marketing, a lot of other affiliate marketing types exist. If the classification is based on the depth of the affiliate network, it can be classified as single-tier, two-tier, and multi-tier affiliate marketing. There is also another type of affiliate marketing that pays the affiliate each time the customer he has referred purchases something from the advertiser’s site.

Single-Tier, Two-Tier, and Multi-Tier Affiliate Marketing
These types of affiliate marketing are based on the different levels or tiers in the affiliate network by which payments are made. In a single-tier affiliate marketing program, the affiliates are only paid based on the direct sales or traffic he has referred to the advertiser. All the previously mentioned affiliate marketing types (i.e. PPS< PPL, and PPC) fall under the single-tier classification.

In two-tier affiliate marketing programs, the affiliate is not only paid for the direct traffic or sales that he refers to the advertiser’s site, but also on every traffic or sales referred by various other affiliates who joined the affiliate program through his recommendation. Multi-tier affiliate marketing works the same way, although the affiliate gets additional commission for a wider number of affiliates in different tiers in the affiliate network.

Residual Income Affiliate Marketing
In residual income affiliate marketing, the affiliate gets paid not only once for every customer he has referred to the advertiser’s site. Rather, the affiliate is also paid whenever the customer he has referred returns to the site and purchase another product. Compensation for such type of affiliate marketing is based on either sales percentage commission or fixed fee basis.

The different affiliate marketing types would virtually work differently for advertisers and affiliates alike, and each would generally have their own list of benefits. Which type of affiliate marketing will work best for you? It is not really for me to tell. Rather, it is for you to choose which type of affiliate marketing program will suit your needs and characteristics best.

Making Money From Email Marketing

Posted by JG on Jun 10, 2009 in Email List Management

The object, of course, of any niche marketing business adventure is to make a profit. When people subscribe to your email newsletter, their intentions are to get the information that you are able to provide to them. When people subscribe to your email newsletter, your objective is to make money by supplying that information. This is a simple concept that is easier said then done. Making a website profitable…any website….isn’t easy or quick. Try to remember that anything worth doing is worth doing well even if it takes more time than you thought it would.

If you have chosen a topic that addresses the needs, or wants, of a specific segment of the population and if you have set up your opt-in software correctly, you have a list of potential customers. If they have subscribed to your newsletter, then they obviously believe that you have information about a subject that is near and dear to their hearts. They must consider you to be an industry expert or maybe a guru. If you have worked hard at building your customer’s belief in your own credibility, then you should be able to make a nice profit from your newsletter.

You can advertise products and services related to your topic on your website. This can be done with logos and banners that contain links to the products and services. When visitors to your site click on an advertisement, you get credit for a lead and if they buy the product or service you get a commission on the sale.

You can use your newsletter to recommend products and services to the members of your list. Some companies will happily pay you for simply recommending their product or service to your list and give you a commission on any sales that your recommendation generates for them.

If you have someone managing your email list then they can show you ways to monetize your existing, and new email subscriber list. This will ensure that you are making the most revenue possible in promoting offers to your interested customers.
